What is a Virtual Airline?

A virtual airline is a community led organisation formed with the intention to increase immersion and give purpose to flight simmulation enthusiasts. Some virtual airlines are fictional based, while others mimic the operations of a real world counterpart. Virtual airlines can also provide members extra content for their simulator, such as aircraft liveries, manuals and software modifications. In some cases, they also offer training and ranks to provide members with goals outside of the simulators’ proprietary training levels and career modes. In short, they offer an individual the closest experience to operating for a commercial airline within the simulation world.
